Laval's Infrastructure Culturelle au Centre-Ville (ICCV) project represents one of the largest cultural worksites in Quebec. This large-scale complex will house the Bibliothèque centrale de Laval as well as a Centre de création artistique professionnelle, affirming the city's role as a major cultural hub.
In collaboration with Groupe Montoni, the architectural firms Atelier TAG and NEUF architect(e)s, Pelletier & Associés Conseils applies its expertise to the design of the technological infrastructures essential to the smooth running of the building.
A key role in a major project
Our mandate is part of a global approach to ensuring the connectivity and security of spaces, by designing the infrastructures required to meet user needs. Our expertise in telecommunications engineering and technological solutions enables us to contribute to the creation of a modern, high-performance environment, adapted to the requirements of a cultural venue of this scale.
A design-build challenge
The ICCV project is distinguished by its design-build mode, a model in which planning and execution proceed in parallel. This mode of realization requires close, ongoing collaboration between all the disciplines involved to ensure harmonious integration of the building's various components.
In this context, the use of BIM modeling with Revit enables scalable design and effective coordination with other project stakeholders. However, these challenges call for great agility and constant adaptability.
“Working on a project of this scale in design-build mode is a stimulating challenge. The requirements are constantly evolving, and we have to coordinate with all the parties involved. Integrating technological infrastructures into a complex architectural environment requires rigorous planning and anticipation of the constraints specific to this type of cultural building.”»
